According to Piedad Abellán, Secretary General of Podemos Cieza: "Article 25.1.b of the regulation allows any group of citizens over 16 years of age not less than 160 people to submit motions for inclusion in the plenary sessions of the City Council. And we will do that."
From Podemos Cieza, we want to gather the general feeling of citizenship, which does not understand the excessive rise that the current government team has applied, both to its members and to the other opposition parties.
That is why this month of August that begins, we will begin a collection of signatures among all our neighbors, to obtain the necessary support to be able to present this petition to the city council as citizens.
In 2015, while Podemos in the municipal government and enforcing its electoral program, salaries were set that, both then and now, we believe honest, equitable and sufficient for a City Council such as Cieza.
The salary of the mayor was set at 45,000 euros gross per year, the councilors released 35,000 and those who enjoyed half release, 20,000.
By law, the maximum salary for a City Council of between 20,000 and 50,000 inhabitants is set at 55,000 euros gross per year.
Therefore, the rise to 53,000 for the mayor and 43,000 for the released councilors, seems excessive, dishonest with the reality of the people and obscene by the usefulness in other areas that could be given to that money, if it were destined to public needs and not to swell the private accounts of the councilors.
On the other hand, the opposition did not hesitate to show their discomfort with the rise of the team, but nothing has been said about the rise that they will also enjoy during these 4 years.

The councilors without powers and without dedication go from charging 6,300 euros per year to 10,200.
Remember that the accumulated CPI between 2015 and 2019 added 3.9%.
