The Fiestas and Feria de Cieza came to an end last Saturday with the sound of the traca.

The municipal corporation, led in this case by the councilor of celebrations Maria Jesús López make assessment of the 9-day duration of the Fair and especially as it says “to thank associations, organizations, companies and thousands of neighbors that have turned in a few days in which we have regained the pride and essence of our beloved August fair ”.

The festivities in honor of San Bartolomé have been characterized by the great variety of events that have formed it in its different settings: music, sport, gastronomy, culture and leisure.

The Plaza de Espańa, the Balcony of the Wall, the Capitol Theater, La Era and the area of ​​the carousels have been the enclaves of hundreds of anecdotes lived by thousands of people.

And it is that, according to María Jesús López, “we had not seen Cieza in the fair with the streets, squares and venues in which the shows so full of life have been held”.

The City Council of Cieza with the council of celebrations as organizer of the fair, but accompanied by the other councilors in the implementation of some activities has started a new cycle with the celebration of the first editions of some events, such as the Fair of Half Day, a tribute to the peach;

the Moon Festival, or the Water Festival among others.

López Moreno said in this regard that “these events that have celebrated their first edition have been aimed at responding to the needs of different types of public and organizations.

The Half-Day Fair has been held to enhance the tascas of the Plaza de Espańa and give a gastronomic alternative during the morning, while also paying a well-deserved tribute to the farmers and our peaches;

the Moon Festival has been an initiative for young people in which they wanted to make a quality leap in the area of ​​the Era making a different and very colorful theme night;

and the Water Festival has been a success among the little ones with the attractions located in the Corner of the Convent and the giant slide on the Cuesta del Chorrillo ”.

Celebrations has also taken care of the traditions, it has even added to the promotion of them to “give them the value they have”, for this reason, it supported at all times the Brotherhood of San Bartolomé participating in the procession with the regional costume and attending all the events that add more years to the fair.

He also thanked the work of the Association of Commerce Cieza as pregoneros.

There were other main dishes that were the great claim of the fair, such as the concerts that all had an absolute full, the programming of DJs of the Era or the route of the cover.

From the City Council they also do self-criticism, as they affirm “our main objective is to improve some events such as floats asking for the collaboration and participation of friends clubs, renewing the parade with quality parades,” they said.

María Jesús López has commented that “this year we have taken the first step with the giant PlayMobil, but we are clear that this day needs a complete turn to turn the streets of Cieza into an attraction”.

The session has wanted the parties to also be a good time to raise awareness of street cleaning, and therefore has carried out a campaign in which it encouraged residents to perform "the best performance of the fair" , depositing garbage and household goods in the corresponding containers, as well as the realization of a reusable glass for the glasses.

On the other hand, from the councils of celebrations and environment have said that “this has been the first year in which we have carried out this action, but our intention is that the rest of the editions continue improving the quality and quantity, until that we all become aware of our surroundings ”.

Finally, both Mayor Pascual Lucas and Councilwoman María Jesús López have insisted on thanking the entire city of Cieza and the organizations and associations that “thanks to their participation and commitment, the Fair has been an unforgettable week of living together, so as thanks to the work of all City Hall, Local Police, Fire, Red Cross, Civil Guard and Civil Protection staff. ”
