The Plenary maintains a minute of silence for the municipal police officer who died on July 27 (07/08/2020)

The Plenary of the City Council of Cieza moved this Monday provisionally to the Capitol Theater, where Mayor Pascual Lucas presided over the ordinary session corresponding to the month of August.

The new normal, conditioned by the presence of the virus, does not give truce and there is no time to lose, so the councilor summoned the Municipal Corporation to this place.

The last time that the twenty-one councilors met in person was on March 3.

An unthinkable scenario now five months ago, when the state of alarm and the confinement of the population were not intuited that they would go that far.The urgent is the urgent, with which the Consistory put aside the telematic plenary sessions to hold a face-to-face one with the mandatory use of a mask and social distance.

Aware of the uneasiness, if not fear, with which many residents live this new situation, the councilors wanted to convey a message of confidence.

For reasons of capacity and social distance, there was hardly any public in the room, but the session could be followed through the Facebook page of the Cieza City Council. This unprecedented plenary session included a total of seventeen points on the agenda, but beyond the formal aspects, the session was marked by a minute of silence in memory of the agent of the Local Police of Cieza, DSR, who died on December 27.

July.

His effort and example have made the Local Police and Cieza better.

"He was an exemplary agent", in the words of his colleagues.

That of this 42-year-old civil servant, a native of Yecla, was a life dedicated to his work, his family and his friends.

What he was most proud of was having made the friendship of his fellow staff members, to which he belonged for ten years. In his brief speech, the mayor of Cieza said that "he was a great policeman and a great person, respectful of the institution and the city he has served with professionalism and affection." The agent will receive a posthumous tribute on the occasion of the celebration of the institutional act of Police Day.

Emotion dominated, from start to finish, the minute of silence.

Councilors, officials and journalists stand to remember a public servant.
