Cieza will not be able to drink tap water until further notice (04/01/2017)

The Commonwealth of Channels of Taibilla has communicated, through the Environmental Health Service of the Directorate General of Public Health of the Ministry of Health, that, due to the torrential rains of these last days, have had problems with the quality of the Water that they receive, and there has been a breach of one of the parameters analyzed routinely in the water supply.

In particular, the limit allowed in RD 140/2003 for the total content of trihalomethanes has been exceeded.

The aforementioned breach has been confirmed on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, therefore, according to RD140 / 2003 and according to the Communication issued by the Environmental Health Service of the Ministry of Health, citizens are notified That they refrain from drinking water from the municipal network until it is notified again the return to the normal situation.

The water of this network can be used without risk for the rest of domestic uses (cooking, daily cleaning, cleaning, etc.) with the mentioned exception of your drink.

The origin of this non-compliance lies in the water supplied to the municipality from the water treatment plant of the Sierra de la Espada and is outside the management of municipal infrastructure.

The forecast as to the duration of this exceptional situation is to cease in the coming days.

After normality is reached, the end of this alert will be notified.
