Staff assigned to the Emergency Civil Protection Plan for Forest Fires in the Region of Murcia (Infomur) will participate in an exercise to coordinate air resources for the fight against forest fires, which will take place tomorrow in the Sierra del Picarcho (Cieza) .
The simulacrum will be attended by means of extinction of the communities of Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha and Region of Murcia;
The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment;
The Emergency Military Unit and the 43rd Air Force Group of the Air Force.
The exercise is carried out on the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment, and it is intended to evaluate the capacity of coordination of air assets and the efficiency in the management by several administrations in the fight against forest fires, Whose period of high risk usually begins in the month of June.
The activity to be carried out will involve the integration of State Administration systems, including the Ministry and Armed Forces' means, and three autonomous communities.
A total of ten aircraft will participate in the exercise, three of them (two helicopters with their corresponding heli-brigade brigades and a coordination helicopter) attached to the Infomur Plan.
In addition, an Advanced Command Post will be installed at the site, which will include coordinating staff from all participating administrations, while six terrestrial forest brigades will be deployed.
It is expected that a total of 150 people will participate.
