The mayor and councilor of Agriculture support the cooperatives ciozanas in Fruit Attraction (19/10/2017)

The Mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, and Councilor for Agriculture, Antonio Moya, packed this Wednesday in Madrid to the Cieza cooperatives Alimer, Thader and La Vega de Cieza during the inauguration of the international fair Fruit Attraction.

Both gave their support to Ciez farmers and expressed their concern about the problem of lack of water, a fundamental element for fruit production.

Lucas said that it is essential to "support cooperatives and producers, because all of them are the economic engine of our city and it has been a pleasure to be here on this day learning new developments in the agri-food sector and see the great work they do. our farmers who are experiencing difficulties, the most important and worrying for all, the lack of water. "

For his part, Moya said that support is made, if possible, "more necessary in this international forum to our agricultural sector in a year that has been very hard due to the low prices of this campaign, in addition to the alarming water deficit that dramatically affects our fields. We must thank farmers and cooperatives for their work to continue promoting the quality of our fruit in the major agricultural events both nationally and internationally, something that has a direct impact on our economy as a whole ".

The Ciezanos companies are protagonists in the stand of the Region of Murcia in a hortofrutícola fair that has managed to consolidate and to live up to the Fruit Logistica of Berlin with greater presence of professionals.

The fair in Madrid, compared to the German, has the advantage that is held on key dates to prepare the next campaigns.

In this sense, there are good forecasts in the sector to increase the number of contacts and business of the previous contest.

The event has its doors open until tomorrow.

More than 1,500 companies from the entire value chain of the horticultural sector, 20% more than last year, including some 80 producing and exporting firms in the Region, attract about 60,000 professional visitors from 110 countries summoned by the employers Spanish Fepex.
