The Cieza City Council rehabilitates more than 3600 square meters of pedestrian crossings (28/11/2017)

María Jesús López, councilor in charge of the traffic portfolio, has started the maintenance works for the existing horizontal signage, acting on the pedestrian crossing bands that have been erased due to weather and traffic.

The works consist in the replacement of all the road markings that form the pass, repainting the lines of separation of senses in some sections of the main roads in which their visibility has been lost, and repainting of the symbols and arrows found. deteriorated in several intersections.

The areas in which it is acting are, Ascoy, specifically in the accesses to sports facilities and the area of ​​duplex, and in the neighborhoods of San Juan Bosco, and San José Obrero.

The total of the pedestrian crossings corresponds to 3675 square meters, a similar surface on which it was acted last year.

Mayor López stated that "all these actions have as main objective to increase the safety, efficiency and convenience of circulation, focusing especially on the safety of pedestrians, improving the visibility of the steps intended for them. aware that Cieza needs a lot of work in terms of traffic, but the characteristics of our municipality are very complicated to tackle in order to achieve a long-term result, but we are still working on a project that can become the solution that the neighbors need. "

This action is added to other works that have been made, such as the paving of different streets.

Others, such as the improvement of architectural barriers in the fords of pedestrian crossings, will begin next week, along with the installation of traffic lights in different points of the town, which will be installed before the end of the year.
