We will close 2017 in budgetary stability and with minimum indebtedness (27/12/2017)

According to progress has been made by the Department of Finance, and still know the final figures, it can be said that for the second consecutive year the Cieza City Council will close its fiscal year in a situation of budgetary stability, which ensures that during the year 2.018 You can use the remainder to make new investments.

Likewise, it has also been anticipated that the percentage of indebtedness of the City Council will be minimal, the lowest since the restoration of democracy, this figure being around 13%.

We must remember that the City entered 2015 in a situation of budgetary instability, mainly motivated by the V6 ruling, which forced the current government team to make an Economic Financial Plan for the years 2.016 and 2.017.

For the Councilor of Finance, Antonio Ignacio Martínez-Rea, during the year 2,017 services have been provided normally, increasing resources in terms of personnel on public roads, basic needs have been met in social services, making us responsible for many improper competitions given the neglect of the Autonomous Community and has given an important economic boost to our city, carrying out hundreds of activities and projects.

Also during this year, new credits from the 2016 surplus have been added to the budget, to carry out various investments such as Calvario Calles, Unamuno, Fernndo III el Santo, Cuesta de la Villa, Paseo de Ronda, corner convent, Hnos Temperate or Gran Vía, in Barrio Jover, or projects such as the elimination of architectural barriers, action in Parque Principe de Asturias or various rural roads, and all this without forgetting the current works in public buildings such as City Hall, Courts or Plaza de Abastos.

Actions carried out overwhelmingly by companies in Cieza, which has a positive impact on improving employment for our City.

Martinez-Real also remarked that all these actions have been addressed without raising taxes, and thanks to the good management that has allowed us to get out of budgetary instability, close 2,016 with a surplus and get 5 million euros from Europe (DUSI funds) .

Finally, the mayor concluded by asking Minister Montoro to eliminate the "rule of expenditure" for municipalities that are in stability, since there is no point in limiting spending to municipalities that are in positive that have little debt and are good compliers, without a doubt it is something that limits us a lot and that harms the citizenship that sees with astonishment how the local administrations can not meet certain demands despite having enough liquidity for it.
