The mayor receives the Minister of Finance to deal with different aspects of the next Works and Services Plan (02/03/2018)

Pascual Lucas has assured that the municipalities "we need budgetary stability to face and provide the services we assume from our consistories, which is why we will not stop working until a regional financing law with a fair and equitable distribution is approved, such as occurs already in other autonomous communities. "

The mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, held this Friday, along with the councilors of the Francisco Saorin government team, Antonio Ignacio Martínez-Real and Pilar Martínez, a working meeting with the Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, to address different matters related to the next Works and Services Plan (POS), subject to which the Autonomous Community will allocate to Cieza a total of 477,478 euros in the biennium 2018/2019.

At the meeting the councilor explained to the counselor that the Department of Works and Services is already working on the selection of projects that will be financed under the new plan, "a set of actions to continue making a municipality more comfortable and accessible, taking take into account needs and demands that our neighbors themselves raise. "

Lucas moved to Carrillo the Consistorio ciezano concern for municipal funding, arguing that municipalities "we need budget stability to deal with and provide the services we assume from our consistories, which is why we will not stop working until we approve a law of regional financing with a fair and equitable distribution, as it happens already in other autonomous communities ".

Carrillo pointed out that the great novelty of the POS, developed by the Community to support localities with less than 50,000 inhabitants, is that in 2018 it will have a biennial character, so that the municipalities can undertake works of greater scope and importance.

In this way, we aim to increase the quality of life of citizens, as these initiatives improve the infrastructure and basic facilities of the municipalities. "

The Works and Services Plan, said the regional head of Finance and Public Administration, "reaches 550,000 inhabitants of the Region of Murcia, which demonstrates the municipal character of this Government."

He also showed his confidence that, when the population criterion is chosen for the distribution of state funds, the Region of Murcia will have "fair financing".
