Sotoca confirms that Cieza have two bilingual schools next year (03/06/2010)

The Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Constantine Sotoca, Cieza confirmed today that the first two bilingual schools in the municipality will be in place during 2010-2011.

Specifically, the CEIP CEIP Antonio Buitrago and Cristo del Consuelo will join the program from September to allow a hundred first-grade students begin their education in English stage.

The Education Minister also announced major works to be carried out in summer in different schools in the municipality and between the various reforms including preparation and performance of the CEIP José Marín, Geronimo Belda and Pedro Rodriguez.

He also recalled that her department has invested in construction over the past three years more than half a million euros.

As the most important projects for the year 2011, the Minister announced the future construction of a pavilion for children's education and physical education, schools share Cristo del Consuelo and Geronimo Belda.

In particular, the ground floor will house kindergarten and meet the needs of Cristo del Consuelo, and the first floor will house the gym for Geronimo Belda.

The facilities will be located in space currently occupied by the tracks of the latter school.

This action, together with the expansion of vocational training workshops for the IES Los Albares, representing a total investment for 2011 of 1.8 million euros.

Third Institute

The proposed expansion of educational facilities provided for Cieza in the year 2012 is completed with the construction of the third institute of Cieza, in which the Department will invest 4.5 million euros and will feature 12 units of secondary education mandatory.

Schooling

The counselor noted that the municipality has enrolled about 6,500 students.

Stages, there are 1,200 kindergarten, 2,500 primary and 1,800 secondary school, 537 in high school, more than 350, cycles and 36 in Initial Vocational Training Program.

During his visit, the Minister of Education said that the extraordinary relationship between the Municipality of Cieza and the Ministry of Education is allowing undertake these improvements, and recalled the commitment of the Ministry for the improvement of education in the municipality and the Region , "which has its highest expression in the Social Pact for Education".

It also renewed its commitment to continue in this line of continuous improvement "that has only one objective: that the Region of Murcia is becoming a benchmark of quality in teaching and educational excellence."
