Pascual Lucas receives in Cieza all the socialist mayors affected by the fracking and the deputies responsible for the matter to face common (23/05/2018)

The Spokesman of the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Joaquín López, assures that the groups of farmers and cooperatives, as well as the ecologists are pronouncing in their totality against the fracking for the damages that it would produce in our land.

The meeting that took place in Cieza on Monday, May 21 at 7 pm, was attended by the mayors of Calasparra, Caravaca, Moratalla, Bullas, Mula, as well as the regional deputies responsible for the matter González Tovar, Martínez Baños and Navarro , led by the spokesperson of the group in Cartagena and regional vice secretary of PSRM, Joaquín López.

With reason some of the interests of our municipality, such as agriculture and the protection of our environment the mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, convened a meeting on the path to be drawn to prevent our agriculture and our landscapes from being damaged by fracking.

"We have the obligation to present and lead a bill that does not provoke the declaration of unconstitutionality of the TC With fracking, the contamination of our aquifers is guaranteed and, what would our farmers do in times of drought? .

On the other hand, Joaquín López, apostilled and recognized the unanimous support for the declaration of the Region of Murcia Free of Fracking proposed by the PSRM in line with environmental groups.

Even so, he said: "We believe that this practice has many damages and, therefore, we will continue to present initiatives in the Regional Assembly and we will lead a serious front with the mayors and with the entire PSOE because we do not trust the Regional Government. We continue to accommodate this type of initiative and we have to ensure that no project is carried out in our Region. "

Around this, we must declare the existence of a majority social rejection of this practice.

Sectors that sometimes have not gone hand in hand, have been united around common objectives, trying to ensure that the care of our Region is guaranteed by all institutions.

Finally, highlight the work done in the Congress of Deputies where they have presented various initiatives that limit fracking and prevent its expansion through the national and regional territory.

From this moment the Socialist Party of the Region of Murcia, with its mayors in front, are reforming a regional law proposal so that it does not incur unconstitutionality appeal for the powers of each administration.

As well as seeking support in the rest of the parliamentary groups, trying to make the demand of a large part of our society a reality.
