Saorín: "The reconstruction of the Atalaya road imports 87,000 euros" (18/12/2019)

The councilor responsible for the Department of Works, Housing and Infrastructure recalls that, due to the rains that occurred on September 12 and 13, 2019, there was significant damage to the roadway, leaving this impracticable.

The road to the Sanctuary of the Virgen del Buen Suceso is the only road enabled for road traffic that gives access to the hill of the Watchtower.

Part of the RM-532 road, running along the south face of the mountain to the esplanade next to the sanctuary, from which you can also access the Islamic deserted Medina Siyâsa.

Due to the rains that occurred on September 12 and 13, 2019, there was significant damage to the roadway, being impracticable due to the breaking of two retaining walls that caused barefoot in the esplanade, leaving part of the pavement of the hunt in cantilever, in addition to the drag and large stones that, displaced, were deposited in the vial.

The councilor responsible for the Department of Works, Housing and Infrastructure, Francisco Saorín, informs, through a press release, that the technical editor of the report considers that "there is a causal relationship between the catastrophic circumstance and the proposed repair or restitution , the immediate action for the replacement of the infrastructure being necessary as this road is the only access for emergency forest services and firefighting to the Atalaya hill and to the north face of the Sierra del Oro. It is also the only road to through which it is possible to access for the conservation and maintenance work of the Islamic depopulated town of Medina Siyâsa, classified as an Asset of Cultural Interest with the category of Archaeological Zone.In addition, there is a risk that the damage will increase if another rainy episode occurs, which would greatly increase the cost of reconstruction and the cutting time of the road. "

Saorín explains that the works are being carried out by the JF Argudo company and consist of the removal of trawls and stones from the road and ditches, demolition and cleaning of the affected firm and removal of debris to an authorized landfill, demolition of wall remains collapsed and removal of debris to authorized landfill, 10 m long transverse drainage work formed by reinforced concrete pipe of 1,000 mm internal diameter, including 3 meters long reinforced concrete downstream fins, variable height from 2 to 0 , 50 m and 0.25 cm thick and a shoe 3 meters long and 1.20 m wide and 50 cm wide, forming an angle of 45º with the axis of the road, including reinforced concrete frame around the mouth of tube to give continuity to the fins as a containment system of the firm.

In addition, the intervention includes the excavation of the foundation ditch and the formation of the seating area, the filling of granular material in barefoot, wall and fin traverses and slope formation, cyclopean concrete in protection floors at entrances and exits of works of drainage and a reinforced concrete wall of 14 meters in length, 4.50 meters high (with 50 cm of embedment) and 0.30 m thick with a shoe of 2.30 meters wide and 0.75 m of edge, even cleaning concrete, plated with plastered stone and wounded with cement mortar.

To this, the placement of road protection parapets built with prefabricated concrete blocks lightly reinforced and plated with stone, the replacement of the road surface by 25 cm thick cement soil layer and asphalt agglomerate layer is added 6 cm thick.

Finally, Saorín realizes that "the reconstruction of the Atalaya road imports 87,035.03 euros, of which 71,929.78 euros correspond to the base price and 15,125, 25 euros to VAT" and the execution period is two months " .
