Saorín: "The Community and Adif repair significant damage caused by DANA" (24/12/2019)

The Councilor for Works and Infrastructure points out that the actions initiated by the Community of Murcia, the work initiated by Adif to repair the rural road under the 'Chapa Bridge' is added to the actions on the RM-B19 road

In a press release, the councilor responsible for the Department of Works, Housing and Infrastructure, Francisco Saorín, recalled that "the September DANA left in Cieza significant material damage on public roads, natural landscapes and municipal buildings, which forced the City Council to declare the emergency situation to repair as soon as possible these damages caused by torrential rains ".

Saorín explains that "the municipal technicians prepared a list of works, supplies and services after the valuation of damages. In this sense, a total of 40 necessary works have been undertaken to recover the normality in the municipality. Among them the withdrawal of reeds in bridges to facilitate the passage of water, actions in Ríos Gil Avenue, Asensao Bridge, and roads, the arrangement of the municipal shelter, the repair of the transformation center in the municipal sports center and cultural center, sludge removal, and equipment, street cleaning and, recently, the reconstruction of the access road to the Watchtower from the RM-532 road ".

Likewise, the head of the municipal Department of Works, Housing and Infrastructure, points out that, for its part, "the Community and Adif repair significant damage caused by the DANA".

Specifically, the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure has very advanced repair works for the regional road that connects Cieza with Calasparra (RM-B19), in order to remedy the damage caused by the overflow of the Agua Amarga and the Jewish waterways .

Saorín points out that "on the B-19, a road that in the months of greatest agricultural activity supports the traffic of 4,000 vehicles per day, in addition to the important reconstruction of the bridge over the Bitter Water, with the breadth of the road and greater capacity for the flow of the waters under it, the margins and slopes are being cleaned, and the work will improve the damaged pavement and the broken safety barriers will be replaced, and the excavation of the embankment that is in bad shape will also be carried out. state, to the proper depth, and the drainage of the track will be improved. Likewise, the rolling layer and the horizontal and vertical signage will be replenished. "

Reconstruction of the road under the 'Chapa Bridge'

Finally, Saorín has informed that "last week, Adif, the Administrator of Railway Infrastructures, as promised before the city council, began work to rebuild the path of the Loma Blanca, which joins the N-301, next to the Rambla del Judío, with RM-B19, near the passage of the Bitter Water Rambla, the large-scale action is being carried out under the so-called 'Chapa Bridge', which suffered such significant damages that forced the cutting of the cited path. "

The company responsible for Railway Infrastructures is carrying out works that consist of the installation of an underpass on the road for drainage of the railway platform, the subsequent reconstruction of the road and the esplanade of the railroad and the replacement of the telecommunications conduits and the fenced, among others.
