The City of Cieza has awarded the contract for the coverage and adaptation of the Rambla del Realejo.
The work will continue the work of the same nature already carried out in the first two phases, and the section between José Marín Camacho Street and the Murcia Road has also been co-financed by FEDER funds.
In addition to the coverage of this section, the preparation of the resulting platforms and the annexed streets will be carried out with the objective of integrating this surface in the urban context in which it is located, creating a green recreation area for recreation of children and adults and solving problems such as the difficulty in cleaning the current channel.
The action is framed within the Strategy of Sustainable Urban Development and Integrated Cieza 2025 Integrative City, within the line of action of integrated recovery of urban public spaces improving the environment and the urban environment.
The contract has been awarded for 358,275 euros and it is expected that citizens can enjoy this new space next summer.
For her part, the councilor responsible for the Contracting area and the EDUSI project, María Jesús López, has said that "safe steps are being taken towards the transformation of Cieza that respond to the city's historical needs and demands, therefore this it is another example that from the City Council we do our duties as public managers and that the management of European funds is being done in a responsible way ".
