I, Laura Villa Penalva, as councilor of the Cieza City Council for the Municipal People's Group, communicate the following:
By means of this note, I inform the citizens of my resignation as councilor of the Popular Party, and consequently of my decision to become part of the Municipal Corporation of Cieza as councilor not attached to said party.
My ideals, my way of being and what working for my land means to me do not allow me to continue working under the political lines that direct the actions of the Popular Party in Cieza.
Currently, and after months of trying to work under the same guidelines, I believe that our positions remain distant and at a point of no return due to the decisions that have been made in this Municipal Group, which is why, out of loyalty to values ​​and principles that I have as a person, and after having thought it over carefully, I have decided to leave a party in which I leave great people.
This decision has already been communicated to the Popular Party through its Regional President, Fernando López Miras, and its spokesperson at the Cieza City Council, Manuel Egea Ballesteros.
In addition to my resignation from representing the initials of his party, he has also been exposed to the reasons why I do not leave my councilman's act.
Reasons which I will express in the following lines:
In the first place, out of respect for the citizens who trusted me with their votes in the last elections of May 26, 2019, votes for which I was elected to be a councilor of this city council
And, secondly, but no less important, because today I keep intact the desire and the illusion of working for Cieza and for Cieza.
Illusion, desire and work were the only reasons why I decided to take the step of integrating as an independent candidate for the aforementioned municipal elections.
It only remains for me to express my sincere thanks to the Popular Party, and to the people who trusted me within that party, and who gave me this opportunity and, of course, wish the councilors of their Municipal Group, those who until the day of Today have been my colleagues, all the luck and the greatest successes in his management.
Only my people, their people and their well-being move me.
From this moment on, those will be the only reasons and reasons not attached to the Cieza City Council.
