The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the fight against drug trafficking, has carried out the operation 'PUMBO' in the municipality of Cieza, an investigation that has resulted in the dismantling of a storage and distribution point of marijuana installed in a house, where 23 kilos of marijuana buds, two firearms and 300 rounds of ammunition have been seized.
So far, a couple of 29 and 32 years old, of Spanish nationality and neighbor of Cieza has been arrested for the alleged perpetration of a crime against public health, for drug trafficking.
The investigation began in September last year, when the Civil Guard was on the trail of an alleged criminal network dedicated to the storage and distribution of marijuana buds to different drug sellers, based in the Vega Alta del Segura region.
Investigators gathered the necessary information to locate a property, located in the municipality of Cieza, where it was suspected that the narcotic substances were being stored.
The investigations carried out around this address revealed the frequent arrival of vehicles whose occupants unloaded large black bags, supposedly full of marijuana buds, which they delivered to the couple who lived in the house.
On these individuals, the Civil Guard focused the investigation until it was known that both had a history of drug trafficking crimes and that, apparently, they could maintain a marijuana bud storage point in the aforementioned premises for later distribution to third parties, allegedly related to drug trafficking.
The result of the investigation was brought to the attention of the judicial authority who issued the corresponding entry and search warrant in the property under investigation.
Recently, in a large police device, members of the Benemérita have carried out an examination of the house, finding, in a storage room, 23 kilos of marijuana buds, two shotguns and 300 rounds of ammunition, all of which have been seized.
Simultaneously, its two residents have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crime of drug manufacturing and trafficking.
According to the investigation, the now detainees used their home to collect and store cannabis sativa, which was later dosed for distribution to third parties related to the sale of narcotic substances in the Vega Alta del Segura region.
The operation PUMBO, which is still open, so that new arrests are not ruled out, so far has resulted in the dismantling of a storage point for cannabis sativa, as well as the arrest of two people as alleged perpetrators of the crime of drug traffic.

Those arrested, the drugs seized and the weapons and the seized effects, together with the investigative measures, have been placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court of Cieza (Murcia).
