Cieza City Council begins the distribution of solidarity masks (14/04/2020)

More than 25,000 units will be distributed thanks to the solidarity of neighbors and companies. The Cieza City Council has started a distribution of solidarity masks to all the homes in Cieza so that in the first instance, citizens can go with a more protective barrier , to the essential exits that they are obliged to do.

These are masks that have been made by volunteers, with materials that have been donated by various companies and that aim to alleviate the deficit of this sanitary material.

It is important to clarify that they are not approved masks, but that they are useful as a physical barrier to prevent the spread of contagion and as long as there are not enough on the market.

The masks are made of Polypropylene, and can be washed at 65 degrees.

The distribution will be made to the different addresses, and by mailbox to avoid personal contact as much as possible.

Neighborhood associations, through volunteers, will be in charge of this distribution.

More than 25,000 masks are going to be distributed, which we must once again thank the chain of solidarity that was born as a result of this terrible global pandemic.

From the City Council we request understanding, patience and empathy towards all the volunteers who are carrying out the work of making, washing, enveloping and distributing the masks, since everything is done with the best of intentions to contribute the grain of sand that contributes to eliminate the pandemic.

Once the distribution is finished, if any address does not receive masks, you will have a telephone number at your disposal to claim them and you will be attended.

We recall the importance of taking extreme personal hygiene and distancing precautions and the need to remain at home and only abandon it in case of extreme need.

We are on the path to overcoming the disease but we cannot relax the measures and go backwards.
