The weekly Cieza market resumes its activity with strict control measures (18/05/2020)

On Wednesday May 20, the weekly market that had been held in Cieza and was suspended by the declaration of the state of alarm, will resume its activity under strict security controls that will allow Cieza residents to make their purchases with the utmost confidence . This market is restarted with food stalls and basic necessities, as indicated by the competent authorities, and they must comply with all the regulations issued by the health authorities. Once almost all of the paving and sidewalk works that were being carried out in the San José Obrero neighborhood area were completed, the market will return to its usual location, with the novelty that it will take place in a closed circuit, a single address, and in which the capacity will be continuously controlled.

The hours of access to the public will be from 8:00 a.m.

to 2:00 p.m., and both access to and exit from said circuit may be made at the intersection of La Paz and Cartagena streets.

At the access point there will be a temperature control, as well as a hand hygiene and capacity control point.

It will be necessary to go with a mask, and respect the marked safety distances at all times, which will not allow contact with other customers, or approaching the stand, or touching the products displayed there.Card payment is also recommended as far as possible. In the words of the responsible councilor, Mª Jesús López, "an important effort has been made so that street vendors can also resume their activity to a certain extent and our citizens can enjoy the market, but we are going to be very demanding with compliance with the norms established for both sellers and consumers, and in the slightest doubt we will not hesitate to go back if these norms are not met.

" In this sense, a special device will be established for the civil guard, local police, civil protection and municipal officials who will control at all times that the activity is carried out with complete normality. We are in a delicate situation, in Phase I of the de-escalation and we cannot relax compliance with the standards that the health authorities set for us.

We appeal to the responsibility and good work of all, in all aspects of daily life, in order to overcome this terrible pandemic as soon as possible. #EsteVirusLoParamosUnidos #Stay at home
