Employment initiatives play an important role in "VOLVEMOS", the campaign to revive Cieza (26/05/2020)

The vast majority of municipalities in the region have started phase 2 of de-escalation towards the new normality.

Cieza has been one of them, and for this reason, all the measures that are part of the "VOLVEMOS" project take on greater prominence at the moment, according to the City Council.

Among these, the Employment Area is essential for the socioeconomic reactivation of the city.

For this reason, the Consistory ciezano, through the Department of Employment and Economic Development, has designed a series of provisions for employment policies.Regarding training, the participant registration process continues for the courses that are carried out in collaboration with the Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia. The training actions for this year are: "Carpentry and Furniture Finishing" 490 hours, "Basic Restaurant and Bar Operations" 290 hours and "Cleaning in Open Spaces and Industrial Facilities" 210 hours.

All have a Certificate of Professionalism and are aimed mainly at unemployed people in the municipality. This training action has been generated by the demands collected within the rounds of visits established by the Local Development Dynamization Plan (PdDL), "betting on training with meaning, that is, oriented to what is demanded by local companies", The responsible councilor Antonio Moya has pointed out.As for the Local Public Employment program, after participating in the call of the Regional Employment and Training Service for the granting of subsidies of said program, the Cieza City Council received the granting of a grant amounting to € 80,699.22 to carry carried out the project "Adaptation of different municipal facilities".Through this program, the aim is to subsidize a project aimed at promoting employment in the construction sector, a group especially affected by unemployment in recent years, for the execution of works and services of general and social interest.Specifically, the Cieza City Council plans to hire six unemployed for six months to carry out these jobs, four masonry officers, a laborer and a painter. The works will focus on the completion of the Center for Young Entrepreneurs Initiatives (CIJOE) and Employment Shuttle, in the old Municipal Market, as well as the adaptation of other municipal facilities. The planned start date is May 25 and the total cost of the project reaches the figure of € 140,699.22, of which the Cieza City Council, through the Department of Employment and Economic Development, finances € 60,000.00.The COWORKING space will be inaugurated, that laboratory of ideas focused on new entrepreneurs, new projects, ultimately, new job opportunities, focusing on young people to lower high rates of youth unemployment.Along these lines, it should be noted that the municipality has been awarded the Basic Vocational Training Course on Agro-Gardening and Flower Compositions in Dual mode, which has a wide variety of professional opportunities and will be taught next year 2020/2021 at the IES Los Albares, taking classes in the Casa Grande Garden located in Ascoy. With this concession, Cieza, is at the forefront of this type of training, since currently there are no cycles in this modality within the entire national territory.

According to Councilor Moya, "for the agricultural sector, two major objectives are achieved: one is to professionalize the sector with regulated training, and the other is to set an example of local development for the territories where this sector is the basis of the local economy, a further effort to this City Council in the fight against youth unemployment ".Lastly, a Specific Social Employment Plan COVID-19 is being prepared that will translate into the generation of employment for some 25/30 people, in difficult social situations, for three months (from October to December), focused on collecting esparto for the recovery of traditions and a trade in oblivion that defines the history of Cieza.

At the same time, reports are already being drafted for the Regional Employment Councils, reports that will be divided into three blocks: 'Development and improvement of the rural and natural environment of the municipality', 'Repair and maintenance of public buildings and urban furniture', as well such as 'Repair and maintenance of public roads'.

All of them are endowed with more than € 900,000 and, for the first time,Works will begin on October 1 and run until February 25, 2021.
