Saorín informs of the start of the new covering works for the Rambla de El Realejo (29/05/2020)

The Councilor for Works underlines that, with this third phase, which imports 358,275.00 euros financed by the Strategy for Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development (EDUSI) of the European Structural and Investment Funds, Cieza reactivates itself and strives to return to administrative normality.Through a press release, the Councilor for Works of the City of Cieza, Francisco Saorín, has reported the start of a new phase of coverage of the Rambla de El Realejo.

The work has been "frozen" during the period of confinement that the country has suffered as a consequence of the pandemic generated by the covid-19.Saorín explained that the covering works of the current channel have been claimed on numerous occasions by the hundreds of residents adjacent to the boulevard, hence the interest of the City Council in executing them, considering them eminently social and of public interest.

"With them, it is intended to solve the problems of difficulty in cleaning, decorum and unhealthy current channel, as well as visual impact, managing to integrate this space as a green recreation area for recreation for children and adults," explains the councilor of Plays.Saorín recalled that, in 2003, two projects were drawn up: the first one covered the section of the boulevard between Juan XXIII avenue and José Marín Camacho street, while the second contemplated the actions from José Marín Camacho street to the Camino de Murcia.

Both were updated in 2007, the first of which was executed in 2009.

Later, in 2015, a new update was carried out on the second project, which was executed in 2017."Now," says Saorín, "the execution works of a new project between the Camino de Murcia and the Avenida de Abarán have begun."In addition to the execution of the structure that allows said coverage, the resulting platforms and the attached streets will be conditioned for urban use as a place for recreation and walking, both for adults and children, favoring the integration of this surface in the urban context in the It is located and the permeability of pedestrian flows between the different streets that are now divided by the existing channeling of the Rambla de El Realejo. The work, which was put out to tender for an amount of 477,699.27 euros, was awarded by the Cieza City Council contracting table to Excavaciones El Mona for a final amount of 358,275.00 euros and a term of execution of six months. The action is financed by the Strategy for Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development (EDUSI) of the European Structural and Investment Funds. Finally, Saorín has highlighted the importance of this work for the San José Obrero neighborhood, "which will no longer be divided by the bed of the boulevard and get a new space for recreation and walking, as well as savings for the municipal coffers of 119,425 , 27 euros (25%) on the bid price, which highlights the good management of the PSOE / IU-Verdes coalition government, which, like the previous Corporation, saves on all works, in contrast to the twelve years of PP government, in which all the works had a final cost much higher than the award cost ".
