Following the procedure established in the Resolution of July 20, 2018, of the Presidency of the National Statistics Institute, which regulates the technical instructions for the Municipalities on the revision of the Municipal Register, it is established that on January 1, 2020 our City it had 35,278 inhabitants, all of this, once said data has been approved by the INE after the procedures indicated in the regulations.From what follows, obviously, that in 2019 there was a growth in the population, since it started from 34,889 inhabitants.In this way, the trend that had been dragging in recent years of population loss is reversed.In percentage terms, it represents an increase of just over 1.1%, undoubtedly a significant increase, which generates positive repercussions for the municipality, such as obtaining a greater allocation of state public resources.Usually, the population of Cieza has been characterized by being very stable and having few oscillations, without significant variations year after year in births or deaths, for which reason the increase has been produced by two factors; the first, the arrival of inhabitants from other areas, motivated by the good prospects for employment in the City, and the second, the decrease in the number of people who go out looking for work and change their location.
