Saorín announces the reopening of the Príncipe de Asturias park (25/08/2020)

The Councilor for Health and Public Health of the City of Cieza reports that the focus of rodents has been eliminated in the recreation area.A month and a half ago, the Cieza City Council was forced to close the Príncipe de Asturias park as a result of the appearance of a rodent outbreak.

Once this problem has been eliminated, the recreational space, once it is ready for use and enjoyment, is reopened to the neighbors and their pets.In a press release, the Councilor for Health and Public Health of the City Council of Cieza, Francisco Saorín, recalls that during the nearly three months of confinement there was a rainy period where the proliferation of seeds and rodents was abundant, which together with The reduction of maintenance services due to having to attend to other priorities made it difficult for them to be "combated"."The situation created by the appearance of a rodent outbreak has forced us to keep the park closed, on the one hand, to undertake the treatment of the appearance of the rodent outbreak and, on the other, to guarantee the safety of people and pets ", emphasizes the councilman."Saorín has reported that for a month and a half the company in charge of dealing with the deratization of the municipality has reinforced the laying of baits against rodents, intensifying the change of these and placing them in all corners and habitats; action that has made possible the elimination of rats and diminishing their existence, since the baits were changed fortnightly so the reinforcement of measures has been important on the part of the company that has been awarded the deratization and disinsection contract ".The Department of Health and Public Health has not wanted the intervention to remain in temporary actions out of necessity, but has increased the measures, with the placement of closed boxes to maintain fixed baits throughout the year, which will be reviewed and replaced every 15 days, ensuring with this measure the safety of people and pets and that the baits remain constantly throughout the year. Finally, Saorín has highlighted the understanding and compliance with the rules by the neighbors and users of the park as a whole and especially of the canine space, since pets have been deprived of the use and enjoyment of this park that was built to satisfy their needs.
