The Cieza Este Health Center goes orange due to the increase in infections (14/09/2020)

| After a meeting with the Manager of Area IX and the coordinators of the Cieza Este and Oeste Health Centers, it is necessary to take extreme precautions | The mayor of Cieza Pascual Lucas and the councilor of health Francisco Saorín, have held a meeting this morning with the health officials of the town in order to be able to assess the situation and the necessary measures to reduce the number of infections by COVID-19 in the municipality. The number of infections has doubled since last Monday, and it is feared that they will multiply until they reach levels that require more restrictive measures.

They have gone from 15 to 37 infected in 24 hours in Cieza Este, and from 8 to 16 in Cieza Oeste. After the tracking work, it has been detected that the highest risk and number of infections occur in family settings, in private celebrations, where precautions and distancing measures are relaxed, use of a mask and frequent hand washing are not followed.

. In this meeting, the municipal officials have transferred the total availability of both material and personal resources, which can contribute to reducing the risk of contagion in our municipality.

In this sense, the need to carry out awareness campaigns, municipal facilities to undertake the influenza vaccination campaign that will begin shortly, and also the possibility of having trackers among municipal staff have been raised. In this sense, the councilor for health, Francisco Saorín, has stated that work continues from the different councils with associations, schools, and groups in general, which have been demanding municipal intervention to adopt measures to prevent infections, and has commented that "Right now our greatest concern is to stop the contagion curve, and we are not going to skimp on personal and material resources to achieve this.

To all this must be added the measures that each of us as citizens must adopt of social distancing, frequent hand washing and use of masks at all times ". The health authorities have emphasized the need to protect, above all, our elders, limiting outings to what is strictly necessary, and to take precautions for the rest of the population.

The safety distance, the use of the mask at all times and frequent hand washing, now become indispensable to the point of saving lives. Starting this afternoon, and always through official channels, the City Council of Cieza will publish the information that the Health Area will transfer daily, so that the population is informed and aware of the situation we are experiencing. Mayor Pascual Lucas has appealed to the responsibility and civility that Cieza has shown to date "we are in a delicate situation and it is everyone's responsibility to be able to stop contagions and avoid being involved in situations as difficult as those neighboring municipalities to which we send all our support and solidarity ".
