On October 11, the International Day of the Girl is celebrated, with the aim of promoting the empowerment of girls around the world. This commemoration comes from a resolution of the United Nations, which was established by the UN, to promote the recognition of the rights of girls and raise awareness of the problems they face around the world, mainly in undeveloped countries.

The children of the Council for Childhood and Adolescence (CLIA) made the decision to commemorate this day by preparing a manifesto that was read this Friday afternoon by two of their representatives in the plenary hall of the City Council.Ana Lucía Molina Tormo and Marcos Martínez Nortes were accompanied in reading it by the Councilor for Education, María Ramos Batres; the councilor for Social Policies, Melba Miñano, and the CLIA coordinator, Mª Rosario Salmerón.It was a symbolic act as well as solidarity and claim.
