The Civil Guard detains the owner of two dangerous breed dogs that attacked a neighbor (09/11/2020)

| He is allegedly responsible for the crime of reckless injuries | The victim was seriously injured by a bite to the arm The detained person lacked the mandatory license that enables the possession of potentially dangerous dogs The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has carried out an investigation in Cieza aimed at identifying the owner of two dogs, of a potentially dangerous breed, who bit a neighbor when he was on a farm he owned. The investigation has culminated in the arrest of the owner of the animals as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of reckless injuries. The action began when the Civil Guard learned of the aggression suffered by a neighbor of Cieza as a result of the attack by two dogs of a potentially dangerous breed. As soon as news of the event was heard, Citizen Security Prevention patrols traveled to the place, a house located in the Los Prados de Cieza area, where they interviewed several people who related what happened. Apparently, the events occurred when the owner of the farm accessed his property, at which time two dogs entered the premises and pounced on a small breed dog.

His daughter was able to catch the injured animal and run with him towards the house while being chased by one of the American Pitbull Terriers. To prevent him from attacking the girl, both the complainant and a family member interposed between the dog and the girl, at which point the animal bit one of them on the arm, so, seeing that the dog did not give up the bite, the father of the minor took the shotgun with which he came from hunting and shot him down. Next, the agents searched the area until they found the escaped dog that, once located, was transferred to the Cieza municipal Zoonosis Center. The Civil Guard found out that the animals lacked an identification chip, so they investigated until the identity of their owner was known. Once located, the agents verified that this person lacked the required license that enables the possession of potentially dangerous dogs. The 55-year-old Spanish male owner from Cieza was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of reckless injury. The detainee and the proceedings ordered have been made available to the Investigating Court of Cieza.
