Saorín reports the creation of six new loading and unloading areas (11/11/2020)

The Traffic Councilor of the City Council of Cieza recalls in a note that "all the areas for loading and unloading goods in Sector 1 have also been marked."According to a statement, "in the last ordinary plenary session in November, the municipal group of Vox presented a single motion in which it was asked to 'request a report from the Local Police of Cieza to collect the need and, where appropriate, the viability of a reserve of public space for loading and unloading on Avenida de Italia.

"The initiative was withdrawn by the proposing group when it became clear that said report had already been drawn up by the Traffic Coordinating Deputy Inspector on October 31". Thus, the Councilor for Traffic of the City of Cieza, Francisco Saorín, has reported that this week the Services staff "has enabled six new stop areas for loading and unloading of goods.

The areas are located on Gran Vía (2), Camino de Murcia (2), Mesones street (1) and Paseo Marín Camacho (1); action that, in the words of the mayor, "solves the problem of parking the vehicles that have to make a stop to supply merchandise to the shops and bars / restaurants in those areas"."To this intervention -explains the municipal head of Traffic- we must add the signage of the loading and unloading areas for goods already existing in the streets Buen Suceso (next to Callejón de los Frailes), Reyes Católicos (next to the Plaza de Abastos) and Walk on both margins "."In addition - Saorín has indicated - his council has carried out an action aimed at signaling with reservation of space for certain users (toilets and ambulances) on the Camino de Madrid, entrance to the SUAP", as well as the creation of parking cards in areas reserved for toilets in external service.Together with this work, "the painting of the yellow grid area has been carried out, prohibiting stopping at the intersection of Cuesta del Molino with Tomás y Valiente, to facilitate vehicle access from said street when the Cuesta del Molino traffic light with Ramón y Cajal is in the red phase and the traffic lane is collapsing in that direction.

"Another action to be highlighted is the repainting of several disabled places for people with reduced mobility and the creation of 25 new spaces, as well as the placement of 25 new parking reservation signs for them.

"Currently we have 115 places near the houses for people with reduced mobility and 50 in parks, pedestrian areas, etc."Likewise, according to the report of the traffic coordinating sub-inspector, "approximately 4,200 square meters of pedestrian crossings have been repainted, comprising Sectors 1, 2, 4 and part of Sector 3.

As well as the painting of lines and horizontal signs on the road and traffic lanes, 3 pedestrian crossings being erased due to not being signposted and according to a study it will not be necessary to replace them due to duplication of steps in the area or improper use of them, located in the corner of the Convent -Mesones; Mesones intersection Buen Suceso and Camino de la Estación No.

7 ".On the other hand, in the course of this improvement operation, "as soon as possible speed-reducing bands will be placed in various streets of the municipality, already requested by the residents of the affected areas or streets, in order to guarantee the safety of pedestrians, especially boys and girls who play in nearby parks.

"Finally, the councilor for the branch has highlighted "the important joint work that the Services and Traffic personnel are carrying out to keep the city in conditions.

A task that, even with actions to be done, has been constant."
