[Saor n: "The growth of the contagion curve due to Covid-19 in Cieza is very worrying" (11/01/2021)

The Councilor for Health and Public Health of the City Council of Cieza, Francisco Saor n, calls on the population to maintain all precautions and respect the rules and advice issued by the health authorities in order to avoid the passage to phase II. The incidence rate for coronavirus in the Region of Murcia is once again at extreme levels of transmission, after tripling the incidence rate during this period.

Such is the situation that of the 151 accumulated cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days that were registered on Monday, December 21, more than 500 have passed, while in the last seven days there have been the number of active cases doubled (from 4,077 to 8,917) A scenario that marks an epidemic curve that rises in a worrying and dangerous way. The data suggest that the Region will soon exceed the thresholds of Phase 2 alert, established in more than 400 patients hospitalized for Covid-19 on a weekly average (more than a hundred admitted to the ICU).

Once these figures are reached, the Order that regulates the restrictions to apply provides for the closure of the interior of bars and restaurants throughout the Region. As for Cieza, the number of active cases due to Covid-19 as of yesterday Sunday reached 195, which represents an increase of 27 more compared to Saturday, accounting for 27 positives and no cure in the last 24 hours.

Regarding the cumulative incidence per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven and fourteen days, the municipality reached 331.5 and 465.9 cases, respectively.

For its part, the situation of the health centers, the one in Cieza Oeste remains in an orange phase and the East in red. Faced with this situation, the Councilor for Health and Public Health of the City of Cieza, Francisco Saor n, has declared that "the growth of the contagion curve for Covid-19 in Cieza is very worrying", therefore that has appealed to the population to maintain all precautions and respect the rules and advice issued by the health authorities in order to avoid the transition to phase II. Likewise, Saor n has wanted to reinforce the messages in relation to prevention measures, the 6M: the use of a mask as long as possible; frequent hand washing with water and soap or hydroalcoholic solution; the maintenance of physical distance; keep windows and doors open to the extent that is safe and temperature-feasible; minimize the number of contacts, preferably always in the same bubble; and "I stay home if there are symptoms, diagnosis, or contact." In addition, the use of the Radar-COVID application is also recommended. The councilor has insisted that from each town, neighborhood, city, and from each institution we have the responsibility to work together to contain the pandemic and to take care of the health and well-being of the citizenry. "At the current time of 'pandemic fatigue' in which a negative impact on the emotional well-being of the population is verified, in addition to the social and the disease and deaths from COVID-19, it is important to generate spaces for care and safe alternatives for citizens, preferably in open spaces ", concluded Saor n.
