[The works on the Rambla de El Realejo are practically completed (13/01/2021)

The Councilor for Infrastructure and Works of the City Council of Cieza, Francisco Saor n, recalls that, with this third phase, it imports 358,275.00 euros financed by the Strategy for Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development (EDUSI) of the Structural and Inversi n Europeos, Cieza achieves a new recreational space for recreation for children and adults. At the end of May last year, the third phase of covering the Rambla de El Realejo de Cieza began, a work that was "frozen" for a few months as a result of the confinement that the country suffered due to the pandemic generated by the covid -19. In a press release, the Councilor for Infrastructure and Works of the City Council of Cieza, Francisco Saor n, has announced that the action aimed at covering the Rambla del Realejo is practically concluded, recalling that with This third phase, which imports 358,275.00 euros financed by the Strategy for Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development (EDUSI) of the European Structural and Investment Funds, Cieza achieves a new recreational space for recreation for children and adults. Saor n recalled that in 2003 two projects were drawn up for two phases: the first of them covered the stretch of the promenade between Juan XXIII avenue and José Mar n Camacho street, while the second contemplated the actions from the Jos Mar n Camacho street to the Camino de Murcia.

Both were updated in 2007, with the first being executed in 2009.

Later, in 2015, a new update of the second project was carried out, which was executed in 2017.

While the third phase It is practically completed so the work will be received in the next few weeks. Likewise, the mayor has specified that after concluding the structure that allows said coverage, the resulting platforms and the adjoining streets have been conditioned for their urban use as a place of recreation and walk, both for adults and children, favoring integration of this surface in the urban context in which it is located and the permeability of pedestrian flows between the different streets that are now divided by the previous channeling of the promenade. The work, which was put out to tender for an amount of 477,699.27 euros, was awarded by the Cieza City Council contracting desk to Excavaciones El Mona for a final amount of 358,275.00 euros and a deadline for execution.

Within six months.

The action is financed by the Strategy for Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development (EDUSI) of the European Structural and Investment Funds. Finally, Saor n has highlighted the importance of this work for the neighborhood of San José Obrero, "which is no longer divided by the riverbed of the rambla and achieves a new space for recreation and walk, as well as savings for the Municipal coffers of 119,425.27 euros (25%) over the bid price, "which highlights the good management of the PSOE / IU-Green coalition government," they conclude from the council.
