The City Council acquires semiautomatic defibrillators for sports facilities and shapes its staff (16/12/2016)

The City Council of Cieza, through its Sports Service, has made an important economic effort to equip municipal sports facilities with semiautomatic defibrillators, in order to ensure the safety of sports users of our facilities.

This was stated on Thursday by the mayor, Pascual Lucas, during his presentation.

"In the coming days we can say that municipal sports facilities are cardio-protected spaces and, therefore, safer spaces for sports practice, making Cieza one of the first municipalities in the Region of Murcia to provide semiautomatic defibrillators to All its facilities, "said Lucas.

In total, 5 defibrillators have been acquired to locate them in the facilities of the Juan José Angosto Pavilion, Heated Indoor Pool, Mariano Rojas Municipal Sports Center, Los Albares Neighborhood Hall and La Arboleja football fields.

In addition, the deficiencies of an existing defibrillator in the City Hall have been corrected to locate it in the soccer field of La Era.

These 5 semiautomatic defibrillators, from the Samaritan PAD 350P brand, include pediatric and adult electrode patches, metal display case with alarm, poster and homologated indicator sticker.

Parallel to the acquisition of these defibrillators, and in compliance with Decree 349/2007, of November 9, regulating the use of external semiautomatic defibrillators by non-medical personnel of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Has proceeded to train 10 municipal workers, among factory operators and sports monitors.

On the other hand, thanks to the efforts of the City Council, has also formed, and free of charge, a person designated by each of the twelve entities or sports clubs users of municipal sports facilities in which to place defibrillators, Including two entities of persons with disabilities.

In the next few days, it will proceed to its placement once the administrative procedures of communication of installation that the General Directorate of Public Health is demanded are carried out.

Lastly, the mayor wanted "to never have to be used, because it would be a sign that no personal misfortune has occurred, but we must congratulate ourselves because, from now on, we will say that we have cardio-protected sports spaces."
