The Governing Council has authorized the Murciano Health Service (SMS), under the Ministry of Health, to carry out various improvement actions in the Vega Lorenzo Guirao hospital in the IX-Vega Media del Segura health area, for An amount of 1,390,451 euros.
Thus, it is planned to create a new endoscopy post.
In this way, the hospital will have a total of two posts, which will contribute to improve the screening process.
In addition, the rehabilitation area will be expanded, which will increase the number of treatments and include techniques such as hydrotherapy.
The project also includes the renovation of the installation of air conditioning and the adaptation of the low voltage system of the health center, as well as the extension of the surgical area, which will go from four to five operating rooms.
The IX-Vega Media del Segura health area includes the municipalities of Cieza, Blanca and Abarán and has more than 53,000 potential users.
Annually, this center attends more than 36,800 first consultations and 45,500 revisions, in addition to performing more than 5,000 surgical interventions.
