The Councilor for Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás, today visited the residence of elderly people Mariano Marín Blázquez in Cieza, where he explained that the Community finances with more than 1.5 million euros the care of elderly people in this municipality.
Through the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS), 112 places have been arranged in this residence, for 1,293,000 euros, and the attention to 20 people in the Day Center of the Alzheimer Association of relatives of Alzheimer's patients And other dementias (ACIFAD), for 208,166 euros.
The IMAS has its own senior social center, which has more than 5,500 members.
In terms of attention to the most vulnerable groups, the Community also this year allocated more than 3.7 million euros to finance services to improve the quality of life of 441 people with disabilities in the municipality.
In relation to the financing of municipal Social Services Primary Care, this year is expected to increase funding for more than 24,000 euros.
The 359,704 euros that have been budgeted represent a 7.3 percent increase over the financing of 2016.
The grant will be awarded in two stages: an initial one with own funds from the Community and another with funds from the Ministry and the Community linked to them, which will speed up the procedure.
The Social Services of Primary Care constitute the first level of attention of the social services system and, consequently, of exclusive public responsibility.
"It is a question of ensuring the attention, promotion and insertion of people who present social needs as important as absences of vital minimums, situations of dependency or processes of social exclusion, which is specified in the financing for the maintenance of Current professionals, and a very important budget injection, "said the counselor.
The Family Counselor undertook in this visit to maintain the conciliation assistance of working life for families of this municipality, for the amount of 11,140 euros.
She explained that "the financing of the Directorate General for Women includes educational and recreational projects of school for non-school periods, for children between 3 and 12 years, extended schedules in schools and after-school activities, babysitting services or care ".
Violante Tomás also referred to the protection provided to victims of gender violence, with a comprehensive, personalized and free care, during the time necessary to get out of the situation of abuse and from different professional approaches, both legal and social And psychological.
The Cieza CAVI has a budget of 56,394 euros and is made up of a multidisciplinary team of technicians specialized in gender violence, and with the addition of 119 new women in 2016 offered a total of 1,281 services.
In the fight against gender violence, the municipality also has a guarded floor where women who have suffered gender violence and their daughters and minor children are temporarily housed.
In this house, which is financed with 40,000 euros, they are provided a comprehensive treatment, promoting their personal autonomy and facilitating the means for their social and labor insertion.
In 2016 a total of four women have been welcomed in this house.
