Izquierda Unida-Verdes Region of Murcia condemns the "racist raids" against immigrants in Cieza (15/01/2018)

The complaint comes after the last episodes in Cieza, where a raid was carried out with more than 50 policemen in places run by people of Maghrebi origin.

Victoria Rodriguez, head of strategies for the conflict of IUVRM has denounced that "this is another example of the racist policies carried out by this government".

Likewise, Rodriguez has denounced racist raids against people who are not treated as citizens because they do not have "papers" with the excuse of a "labor inspection".

This action that has been developed in Cieza with devices from the Police Intervention Unit of Granada and Malaga, and which has not been coordinated with the local security forces, was aimed at registering premises run by people of Maghrebi origin, which we consider denunciable when dealing with identity controls under racial premises.

From Izquierda Unida remind the Popular Party that if you are concerned about the employment situation of workers in the Region, it is necessary to increase resources for labor inspection, since there are employers who take advantage of labor regulations to exploit workers, regardless of their origin, although migrants are more vulnerable to this type of action because of their condition.

Without going any further, the ETTs are a source of labor exploitation in our Region.

For all this, from IU-Green we demand that the state and regional government work to solve the problems of the social majority and stop persecuting people who have not committed any crime.
