The Community launches 15 new places in an occupational center in Cieza (18/01/2011)

Murciano director of the Institute for Social Action (IMAS), Isabel Sola, today inaugurated the new premises of the occupational center of the Regional Association of Parents and Protectors of Mentally Handicapped (Ascope) in Cieza, which has led to the expansion of supply care places for people with intellectual disabilities.

The new center Ascope account from now, with 50 seats, of which 47 are contracted by the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration, for the care of people suffering from addiction.

The increase of fifteen new jobs, representing an investment of 325,000 euros to the Ministry, which will be able to serve new users from Cieza not only but also from other populations of this region as is the case Abarán, Ricote White.

The remodeling of occupational center is expanding the number of units aimed at socio-educational activities such as workshops in gardening, carpentry, recycling, sports, theater or free time.

It also has a specialized physical therapy and counseling to give attendees the best possible coverage for your needs.

The head of the IMAS, Isabel Sola, said that "it is gratifying to see the completion of this important work for which the Ministry has always been committed and that means improving and expanding the supply of services to people with intellectual disabilities and their families."
