Brown stresses the "outstanding" work Ascope with the representation of 'Sound of Music' (10/04/2014)

More than 1,500 schoolchildren in the municipality of Cieza attend different representations convened by Ascope

The CEO of Persons with Disabilities of Murcia Institute of Social Action, John Brown, attended the performance of the musical 'The Sound of Music' of the Regional Association of Parents and Guardians of Mentally Handicapped of Cieza (Ascope), where he stressed that "this Collective performs outstanding work both in day center and its College of Special Education. "

For Brown, Ascope "has managed to move the space of teaching and learning of persons with mental disabilities beyond the classroom environment and the Day Centre and the school."

This partnership has made an adaptation of the musical show 'Sound of Music', starring its own members, and represented in various roles before more than 1,500 schoolchildren in the municipality of Cieza.

The Day Centre

The regional head of disability policies recalled that Ascope Day Centre has 47 beds, which funds the Instituto Murciano Social Action and this year is earmarked 526,099.

He indicated that this center users receive comprehensive care through programs of occupational qualification and personal and social adjustment, in order to achieve the greatest possible personal development of members, all over 16 years.
