Denounce the destruction of a mall in Gurulla (14/01/2015)

Ecologists in Action this week presented a complaint by the clearing and destruction of a mall in Cieza, on the left bank of the Segura, up to the site of the Gurulla.

The complaint comes after this past Sunday, a dozen members of organizations Ecologists in Action and Rio Laugh, visit the area, where they unfurled banners denouncing facts that qualify as "barbaric".

According to Greenpeace exposes in his writing, "have started thirty poplars in an area of ​​high environmental value, included in the Recovery Plan Otter as a critical area to be breeding ground for this species currently threatened with extinction. "

Ruben Vives, spokesman for the environmental organization, claims that "these actions should not go unpunished."

He adds that "it is unacceptable that while public money is intended to restore forests and river banks in the Segura, are still occurring situations like this, involving the destruction of riparian sections in good condition".

Vives recalls that "it is precisely the riparian an ecosystem with higher rates of destruction in the context of the EU, so that the destruction of well-preserved sections is something we can not afford".

In its complaint, the environmental organization claimed, by the stoppage of work, replenishing the affected area to its previous state.
