The councilor of the Transparency Portal, Miguel Gual, reported at a press conference of the work being undertaken by its council in order to accelerate the entry of Cieza in compliance with the transparency laws requiring all municipalities have published information on the municipal website before December 13, 2015.
In the words of Gual, "work during this August focus on preparing a new code of good local governance adapted to the XXI century and especially the reality of rapidly changing information in which we are immersed. Therefore, and as an aspect novel, the use of social technologies will be applied, in particular the social networks as citizens massively uses to access information in general. Also, make public the agendas of the mayor and councilors with responsibilities for all the neighbors know the daily activities of each of them. "
He also explained that since the plenary of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) of 14 September 2010 approved the Code of Corporate Governance at the proposal of the municipal group of United-The Left Greens, "this was left in the oblivion without even appropriate measures to be taken and spread, much less to accept it and send it to the Federation. "
The current government of the City of Cieza intends to submit this code to the vote at the next plenary session on September 1 and after its approval, if appropriate, enter into force as soon as possible.
"With this measure of transparency begin to comply with the law while forgotten our obligations to the public as did the previous government," he says.
Remember last week published the Autonomous University of Barcelona transparency report offered the websites of the 45 municipalities of the Region of Murcia where only six municipalities exceeded approved.
In his opinion, "this proves what remains to be done in the region in terms of transparency in the municipalities".
"With regard to Cieza, suspended with a score of 3.41 (34.1 percent) proof that there is still much to be incorporated into the municipal website, which barely appear clarifiers indicators for this City is declared transparent. Specifically, the data for the report were obtained from the web made and paid (3,000 euros) for the previous corporation and is available on http://www.transparenciacieza.es addition to that offered by the current municipal website http://www.cieza.es, which as already mentioned is in the process of transformation to provide a new portal, more in keeping with the times ".
At present the Department of Transparency Portal is also working to prepare all the judgments in which the City Council has acted as plaintiff or defendant and adapting the information to comply with the Data Protection Act and information that does not appear to affect personal privacy.
"We are putting special emphasis on display when before the judgment known as land of 'Migaseca' for the consequences that will have for ciezanos to force the City Council not only to pay the famous five million euros, but to prepare a budgetary stability plan for the municipal coffers to pay the debt and take the council to moderate their spending at least two years, without having to go through a tax hike that nobody wants and the City Council do not want ".
