The Hospital de Cieza flows into the Murcia Health Service (25/07/2008)

The regional government at the request of the Minister of Health, has agreed to dissolve the Hospital de Cieza and that the hospital is integrated into the network of Murcia Health Service (SMS).

Moreover, this measure will require staff at the Hospital de Cieza pass to depend on the SMS.

The agreement will become effective from 1 August this year.

The extinction of the Foundation occurs ten years after its creation, a period in which the Hospital de Cieza has grown gradually in all aspects, from increased staffing to increase equipment, which has allowed the center to offer users in the region a portfolio of benefits and services increased and better quality, which has prevented travel to other hospitals.

Therefore the center has, to date, with benefits comparable to those of other regional hospitals.

These circumstances have led health officials to consider the region should now match the management and operation of the Hospital de Cieza to that of other hospitals in the Health Service of Murcia.

Thus, the Hospital de Cieza is included in the reorganization process being done by the SMS in recent years, through integration into a common management direction and Primary Care and Specialty by creating Unique Area Managers, as structures that promote continuity between the two levels of care.

Among the benefits flowing to be dependent on the network of Health Service of Murcia is the equalization future economic and financial management and budget, as well as planning.

In addition, 436 people working in the center, of which 68 are doctors and 258 nurses, will join the Community and will depend on the SMS.
