A course at the University of Mar teach you make the best game in visits to museums (17/09/2009)

A course at the Universidad Internacional del Mar will address one of the most innovative strategies and major museums around the world: Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS called, which stands for Visual Thinking Strategies).

While in Spain are a relatively new phenomenon, it is successfully developed strategies and in the 80 museums in the United States.

It was precisely at the MOMA in New York where did this methodology, trying to teach young people and students in general to think, develop their communication skills and introducing them to the visual perception of art works.

The current museum education includes museums as places directly involved with the society, where, in addition to providing aesthetic enjoyment, can be places where everyone can learn about themselves, about each other, and where they can exchange views and personal views about art.

Hence, the VTS is raised considering the development of aesthetic understanding through three means: the contemplation of works of art whose complexity is increased with time asking questions about them and participation in debates group led by experts.

The process is being increasingly deployed in major art museum in our country, as will be discussed in the course of the Universidad Internacional del Mar, entitled "Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS Visual Thinking Strategies).

VTS origins and foundations of Experience and demonstration workshop on museum visitors, "an activity to be held in the town of Cieza during the week of 21 to 25 September.

The course is taught by university professors and heads of Department and Museum of Modern Art, and also includes lectures and debates, workshops that will describe the features of Visual Thinking Strategies.

Also discuss the programs in this area from the Atlantic Center for Contemporary Art CAAM de las Palmas and the Museo Picasso Malaga.

The inaugural conference will be headed by Federico Castro Morales, Professor of Art at the University Carlos III of Madrid and Visual Arts Officer Cabildo de Gran Canaria, and will focus on "Languages of Art in the Twenty-first Century: Challenges for the new viewer ".

Students who enroll in it shall be entitled to three free credits.
